IMPORTANT UPDATE

Recently, Almeda Farm, where we have been operating for 6 years, was sold. We are actively searching for a suitable facility within our service area. Due to the nature of our work, our needs are extensive and specific. The horses are safely stabled while we look for a site.

The Volunteer Orientation which was scheduled for March 5th has been canceled. If you are interested in becoming a lesson volunteer or serving in another capacity, please contact us. We are maintaining a list of those interested and will be sending out updates via email.

Spring Session is scheduled to start on March 31st and will most likely need to be postponed. If you have an interest in registering a student/client, please contact us via email or by phone. We can answer your questions, do an intake, and send registration materials.

Please follow us on Facebook.com/brcth where we will be posting updates. And thank you for your patience while we work towards restarting our operations.

Volunteers are the heart of therapeutic riding programs! We could not provide services without you!

  • Volunteers are the heart of therapeutic riding programs!   We could not provide services without you!
  • Lesson volunteers can be either horse leaders or side walkers.  Leaders must have horse experience, but it is not required of side walkers who are responsible for the student.  Lesson volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.  For camp, we also have volunteers who help with the daily art activities.
  • All new lesson volunteers for spring and fall sessions must attend an Orientation and then one or two hands-on training sessions. Horse leaders may be asked to attend an additional training session focused on techniques proven to be both safe and effective in the therapeutic riding setting.
  • Our Volunteer Orientation for our 10-week Spring Session, which starts on March 31, 2025, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5th at 6:00 pm the farm.

Contact us for more information or to register.

  • If the session has already started and you are interested in volunteering to help with lessons, please contact us and we will work with you to get you trained.
  • Volunteers are also needed throughout the year to assist with horse and barn care, as well as with fundraising, public relations and other administrative activities.
  • Contact us if you’d like to join our team of volunteers!
